New logo!

In transitioning to simpler and cleaner interfaces for all my apps, I thought it only made sense to do so for my logo.

It didn't take long to make, but I think the simplicity of it gives it a level of impact not displayed by my previous logo design.

Cinematic Cheetah... Next in line!

Well underway, Cinematic Cheetah 1.4.0 is the next of my applications to receive an iOS 7 redesign. I have already completed a great deal of the transition, having now finished all of the visual redesigning. All that's left to do now is to redesign the code for the application to take advantage of some of the new features in iOS 7.

I will post again once the update goes live, so stay tuned!

The Year Of Conversion

This year, I will be spending a fair amount of my development efforts updating all my existing iOS apps to fit the new look and feel of iOS 7, as well as to take advantage of new features in the new operating system.

So far, Tuneful Tiger for iPhone and iPod touch has been successfully re-designed for iOS 7. I must say I am quite happy with the update so far, especially with the number of existing users that are updating to the newest version available. As a bit of a side note, there is one feature relating to images that I have been testing for a little bit now, that will be added to Tuneful Tiger for iPhone and iPod touch in the very near future.

The next app that will be updated for iOS 7 is Tuneful Tiger HD for iPad. This is well underway, and I am very pleased with the current progress. I think with this update, the Tuneful Tiger family of apps (iPhone/iPod touch, iPad, Mac) will become even more unified. Yet another side note, I hope to add in iCloud synchronization to the Mac version very soon. I realize it has been a long time since I said I would add it, but I ran into some difficult bugs to overcome. I now believe I should be able to implement the iCloud syncing without any issues.

Beyond the Tuneful Tiger apps, I think the next two logical apps in line for an iOS 7 update are Cinematic Cheetah and Apptical Albatross. After those two apps are updated, I will systematically work on each of my iOS apps, until they are all updated for iOS 7.

Thanks for reading and following along with me! I have never been more excited to be a developer for iOS or the Mac. iOS 7 and Mavericks truly represent a new shift in Apple's platforms!

Tuneful Tiger for Mac - 1.1.0 Now Available!

It has been a few days since it has been released on to the Mac App Store, but Tuneful Tiger 1.1.0 is now available.

This is quite a significant upgrade, bringing both an improved flatter UI, as well as some new features. The new features relate to OS X Mountain Lion and it's built in sharing capabilities. Now, Tuneful Tiger takes full advantage of the sharing features. You can now easily share a song's info by Email, iMessage, Twitter or Facebook with the click of a single button.

Of course, Tuneful Tiger 1.1.0 is still fully backwards compatible with OS X Lion.

If you haven't already, get your free update today. If you don't yet own Tuneful Tiger, check it out on the Mac App Store!

Tuneful Tiger for Mac - Big Update On The Way!

Version 1.1.0 has just been completed and uploaded for final review! This update has been in development for a fair amount of time, but the timing seemed right to finish it up and submit it now.

Primarily, I was waiting to determine if there were any design change decisions that I would want to make. Ultimately, I did decide to drastically change the look and feel of Tuneful Tiger for Mac.

With the advent of OS X 10.9 Mavericks and iOS 7 nearing us, I decided to create a simpler, flatter design for Tuneful Tiger for Mac. I must say, I think this design does help quite a bit in making the experience more user friendly.

Also, in the process, I think I may have come up with the look that I want to use in the iOS 7 update for Tuneful Tiger.

I'll post again once the update for Tuneful Tiger for Mac goes live!

Symphonial 1.1.0 Update Now Available!

It's now here... The first major update for Symphonial on iPhone and iPod touch. The biggest thing present in this update is a new feature called Front And Center. Front And Center gives you a new way to listen to your music, while showing off all of that stunning album art.

Now, when a song is playing, just tap on the song's album art to make it go full screen, and enter into Front And Center mode. While in Front And Center mode, songs can be skipped back and forth by using left and right swiping gestures across the artwork.

Also while in Front And Center mode, the album art will automatically continuously scroll back and forth across the screen. Front And Center now makes your iPhone and iPod touch an artistic show piece when docked on an iPhone/iPod speaker dock. To exit Front And Center, just simply tap on the full screen album art to return to Symphonial's default music playing view.

If you have already bought Symphonial, get your free update now on the App Store. If you haven't, there's never been a better time to buy Symphonial. What are you waiting for?!

Kindly For Mac

It's been a few days since it has been released on the Mac App Store, but I figured I'd give a formal introduction here on this blog, for my newest addition to my Mac app offerings.

Kindly is a new take on reminder applications. It makes adding new reminders an easy task. No longer do you have to figure out the ideal amount of times to be reminded for a given event. Based on how many days away a newly added reminder's event is, Kindly intelligently determines the ideal amount of times to remind you. No need to manually select the number of times to be reminded.

Kindly also keeps a list of all your completed reminders, and if the list gets too full for your liking, you can easily delete all the past entries.

Kindly was also built to take advantage of Mountain Lion's Notification Center from day one, using it to display confirmation that a new reminder was scheduled, as well as displaying reminders themselves.

Kindly - The kinder reminder app!
Check it out on the Mac App Store today!

First off, it adds Spanish language support, making it even easier for those whose native tongue is Spanish to enjoy Sooper! Secondly, version 1.0.2 now also adds full iOS 6 support, including iPhone 5 screen size optimization. Last but not least, photos can now be attached to outgoing Sooper! send-outs (Tweets and Emails only).

All in all, a fair amount of features for a small update. After a few more language updates, the next big feature will be the addition of Facebook posting abilities, complete with photo attachments.

It's Finally Here!

A whole new revolution has finally arrived!

My latest application brings a new take on listening to music, that will revolutionize the way you listen to your collection of music.

Symphonial for iPhone + iPod touch is a modern, simplistic, socially connected music playing app that makes listening to music an even more personal experience.

Unlike other music player apps, that create playlists from a single song, Symphonial creates small suggestion lists of songs based on a day's full listening patterns.

After downloading and installing Symphonial, and playing some music through it for a week, Symphonial begins to track your weekly listening habits.

After the initial learning period, Symphonial will continue to make suggestions based on the previous week's data for the day of the week you are on (i.e. If it is a Monday, it will base the suggestion on last Monday's listening habits)

Don't want suggestions, but still want to use Symphonial to play music for its modern and simplistic design? Music learning and suggestions can be turned off at any time in the app's settings.

Symphonial - isn't it time your music did more for you?

Yet another already in the early stages!

Already, after just submitting a new application to Apple for review, a new idea has surfaced!

This one is pretty cool, and will actually be fairly simple to implement in terms of functionality. The design however may take some time to fine tune and polish just the right way.

Thanks for reading! I'll post more on this new app as it develops.

Thursday 28 March 2013

It will be a revolution...

Last night, I finished and submitted one of my two new application projects to Apple for review. It is a new iOS application idea that I'm thinking (and hoping) will really take off.

I think in terms of design, I have put even more effort into designing custom graphics to make this application stand out from the crowd. It is a simple, elegant and very modern looking application.

In terms of concept, I think I have come up with a fairly unique idea. One that has some universal appeal across a broad audience base.

The best part about this application? Like all my other applications, it has potential to become bigger and better than it ever was before through App Store updates.

Stay tuned... The revolution has been set into motion...

New Projects Underway

In case you haven't been following my Twitter feed, I've now got two new projects underway. These projects are two new app offerings, and I have to say, I'm pretty excited about where both of them could potentially go.

More recently, I have put my "Longest in development" project on the back burner, shifting my focus and efforts to the newest project.

Out of both projects, the newest one excites me the most. I have almost finished the code itself, and have been doing some beta testing for a few days now. So far, so good! No major bugs have surfaced. Once the testing period is complete, I'll tie up the few remaining loose ends, and then all that will be left to do is upload it for review.

I can honestly say in terms of design, I don't think I have done a better job bringing what I envisioned into reality. I think the end result will be quite enjoyable to use!

New Textbook Upload

In case you're looking to buy a used textbook, there's been a new upload to the BookBasketer Marketplace blog.

For those of you who don't know, with BookBasketer from Hanley Solid Solutions, you are able to effortlessly upload information regarding any used textbooks you have that you wish to the BookBasketer Marketplace blog, where other BookBasketer users can view textbooks that might be for sale.

If this service really takes off, I hope to be able to scale up and improve the upload feature, and perhaps even turn it into an App and a full fledged service of sorts, moving away from using a blog as the posting space.

For now though, you can view the BookBasketer Marketplace here:

TravelXpensr for Mac Update 1.0.1

TravelXpensr for Mac has received a small update, to version 1.0.1.

This version adds something that I think a lot of users were holding out for... OS X 10.7 Lion compatibility.

Now, not only does it work with Mountain Lion's sharing capabilities, but it now works great on Lion as well, enabling users who can't or don't want to upgrade to Mountain Lion to use TravelXpensr.

If you haven't already, check the Mac App Store for your free update. If you don't have TravelXpensr yet, check it out on the Mac App Store now!

Once Again!

Right after releasing TravelXpensr for Mac not too long ago, I'm already well on my way on my next Mac app offering!

This app is one that will take full advantage of one of Mountain Lion's key features. If everything goes as planned, this Mac app will be a revolution for an app of its category. It will just make sense when you see it in action. You may even wonder why it had never even been thought of before

I'll post again once this application goes live on the Mac App Store.

TravelXpensr for Mac!

Unlike what I said in my previous post (about the next post being about the first promo video), this post is about my newest Mac app I have been working on...

I can finally reveal... TravelXpensr for Mac!

I'm very excited about this application. Just like the amazing version of TravelXpensr for iOS, this application allows you to not only keep track of travel expenses, but travel experiences as well. With an easy to use, intuitive design, TravelXpensr further extends your Mac's usability as a travel companion. And even if your Mac is not portable, it still helps to take the guess work out trying to keep track of expenses for any type of trip, be it a full on family vacation or just a day trip.

The best features of TravelXpensr? First off, it was built from the ground up to take advantage of the sharing features in OS X Mountain Lion. With minimal effort, you can email a log's data to friends or family, or if you choose, you can send the data in an iMessage.

Secondly, TravelXpensr has the ability to store an unlimited number of logs persistently - you are only limited by the size of your Mac's hard drive.

TravelXpensr - Track much more than expenses... Track the memories as well!

P.S. TravelXpensr in combination with TravelSpeakr makes for the perfect Traveller's toolbox duo!

Thanks for reading! Be sure to check out TravelXpensr on the Mac App Store!

Demo Videos!

I finally think it's time I did some demo / promotional videos for some of my apps, displaying how they work, what they do, etc., etc., etc....

Not only do I think it will help more people to recognize my apps, but I think it will also help to show how my apps can be used, and what they are like, before people purchase them. I will most likely post the videos here on this blog, as well as embedding them in some tweets on my Twitter feed.

I think this is the next logical step in my business roadmap.

Thanks for reading! My next post will most likely be about the first demo / promotional video.

Cheers!

Tuneful Tiger 1.4.2 is getting closer!

Version 1.4.2 for Tuneful Tiger (iPhone + iPod Touch version) is getting close to completion! This version will add an exciting new feature that will increase the usefulness of the application by quite a bit! I don't want to ruin the surprise just yet, so I will just say this... I think anyone who already uses Tuneful Tiger will use it that much more. And if you don't yet have Tuneful Tiger installed on either your iPhone or iPod touch, version 1.4.2 will be the best version to get in on the action!

New Mac App Well Underway!

Another addition to my Mac App offerings is well underway!

The majority of the code has already been completed, and is now mostly just a matter of fine tuning the interface. I hope to have it finished, and submitted within a matter of days, and think I should have no issues meeting my goal.

What is the app? I can't say for now! That would ruin the anticipation!
But I will let you know the category of the app...
It will be another travel app.

I am fairly excited about this application. The level of polish I have put into it so far will make it my best Mac app yet!

Stay Tuned! I will post again when I have finished and submitted the app, and most likely will post again when it gets released on the Mac App Store.
